Xbox one

So I've seen today on the news that Microsoft has announced it's latest games console called the Xbox one.  It's been a few years now since I played a games console so I was wondering wether these latest consoles still excite people other than teenagers. Yes I used to enjoy my time on the Xbox 360 but in the end I thought well this just isn't for me. The only thing I use now is the iPhone which is so easy quick and a lot cheaper than one of the main consoles but ill admit that it doesn't have the same quality as they may do. So I'm very interested to find out if the launch of the latest console truly excites anybody out there so any feedback or discussion would be great. Thanks.

What happens on a Saturday without football?

Right well now the football season is over apart from the champions league on Saturday I thought that I would do a kind of light hearted season review. Ill start at the top I think and work my way down. 1. Man utd, lets all face it even man city fans would say that all season long they have been the better team and should really have won it weeks before they actually did. 2. Man city. I think that they failed in the summer transfer window with all honesty. There wasn't the signing there to really kick on from the 11/12 season. 3. Chelsea. They had there ups and there downs. I don't think anybody really expected them to challenge this year but have done well when they needed too. Nice way to finish with the Uefa cup too. One to watch next year. 4. Arsenal. Same old from arsenal this year, battling out with spurs for the 4th place. Spending much needed with some big impact players coming in if they are to challenge next year. 5. Tottenham. Really impressed with some of the best football seen this year just lacked the ability to grind out results to achieve any silverware this year. 6. Everton. Very good team with a very good manager. David moyes will be sorely missed with his ability to work with a low budget. It was never in doubt that they would achieve a high finish in the league. 7. Liverpool. They are evolving into a great team under Brendan Rodgers. Bit of an inconsistent season but looking like they will come good next term. I too them to break the top four. 8. West brom. The surprise package of the season with the electric start they had. Faded away in the second half but still some top performances. Few good signings and they will be there again next time out. 9. Swansea. Wonderful footballing team and quality players. They were victim of strange results really which was a surprise and meant there position wasn't higher. 10. West ham. Strong season from the hammers. But I do think if they fail in the pursuit of Andy Carroll then they will struggle next time out. 11. Norwich. Went unnoticed most of the season and a few good results at the end cemented there place in the top flight for next year. 12. Fulham. Very good team but there poor form away from the cottage hasn't helped them at all. Strong at home as always. 13. Stoke city. Poor this term for me. Teams seem to have found them out. Need changes or will be in trouble next year. 14. Southampton. Exciting team. Great manager and talented squad. Only need a couple of quality players to cement a too half finish. 15. Aston villa. Poor all season bar the last ten games. No premier league experience to guide them through the bad times. Really need to haul a lot of quality in for next season. 16. Newcastle. Good team but I think there final position is a direct result from a small squad playing in Europe. Will be mid table next season. 17. The dicanio effect guided them to safety. Some quality players there and I think with a decent manager will kick on next term. 18. Wigan. Very good footballing team but so sloppy at the back. There only downfall and the one that got them relegated. 19. Reading. Some decent performances and good results but the lack of top quality showed in the end and deserved to be relegated. 20. QPR. It was written on the wall all season. Not even Harry Houdini could save them. Bad bunch of players that didn't care for the team. Needs to completely rebuild from the bottom now.
Well that's it folks. Hope you enjoyed reading.

Music industry

Hi, this is my very first blog and I will be writing about all different subjects but today I have chosen to start with the modern music industry. I'm a big fan of all genres of music, to me good music is good music no matter wether it's blues, pop or rock. Growing up I was very much into the indie genre with bands such as the libertines spear heading my iPod collection but it never seemed to get the attention that I believe it truly deserved. I understand that a lot of the artist aren't interested in number ones as they are seen to be pop acts. But looking at chart music now the amount of commercialised acts out weigh the true talent and originality of indie music. I'm not saying that pop acts haven't got any talent all I'm saying is that it isn't there talent that is getting them the number ones. The amount of television programmes offering people the chance of a lifetime recording deal is killing the once great British music industry. When was the last time a rock group or a blues act won one of the talent contests, never is the answer to that. The Beatles influenced our music long after there last album was released and certain bands such as oasis, stone roses and the libertines have carried on the effect of the Beatles by producing true music but it seems like the over commercialised boy bands and talent shows are slowly taking any greatness out of the music industry. I will now leave you with a question, will the winner of X factor 2013 be a truly great singer/songwriter or just another boyband?
